Elon Musk Agrees With Vitalik Buterin on Dogecoin and Ethereum Collaboration
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he was “somewhat in agreement” with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin about a collaboration between Dogecoin and Ethereum. Buterin said: “If we can have a secure bridge between Doge and Ethereum. That would be great.”
Vitalik Buterin Talks About Dogecoin And The Ethereum Bridge, Says Elon Musk
ETH co-founder Vitalik Buterin spoke about a possible collaboration between Ethereum and Dogecoin in an interview with artificial intelligence researcher Lex Fridman last week.
Referring to the CEO of Tesla and Spacex who repeatedly tweets about dogecoin, Fridman said: “There is a power behind someone like Elon Musk who is driving the development of a cryptocurrency.” He then asked Buterin: “Is there a way to harness this power and momentum to improve Ethereum?” Buterin said:
If DOGE wants to somehow bridge to Ethereum, and then people can trade DOGE thousands of times a second inside of loopring, then that would be amazing.
“I certainly don’t think Ethereum is against dog coins,” the co-founder pointed out. “I want fans to feel that ETH is, at least a little bit, in the mind itself a dog coin.”

He explained, “I think if we can have a secure bridge between Doge and Ethereum. That would be amazing, and then when ETH gets the scalability that works for Ethereum assets, it can trade wrapped DOGEs with a fee of very low transaction and also very high speed.
Commenting on Musk’s decision to back dogecoin, Buterin said, “You would be wrong if you attributed overly sophisticated malice or deep intentionality to the whole process. He’s just a human being and he loves dogs like I love dogs. “
Musk then commented on the interview, tweeting:
I pretty much agree with Vitalik.
Ethereum is currently in an upgrade transition from a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus model to a Proof of Stake (PoS) model. Buterin recently explained why the update is taking longer than expected.
“One of the biggest issues I have encountered with our project is not technical issues, it’s human issues… Ethereum is now in a better economic position; but it took us five years to get to where we are now. We have had many internal team conflicts over the past five years. If you are building a team, it is important to know who you are working with, ”described the Ethereum co-founder.
Last month, Musk offered some improvements to Dogecoin, claiming to have met with the DOGE developers. Musk wrote: “Ideally; Doge speeds up the block time 10 times; increases the block size 10 times, and reduces the rate 100 times. So win hands down. “
